2007 ALLOBROGES

Six months ago, I signed for the wine club at Wine Sellar to try new types of wines.  Wines have been OK but not really worth immortalizing :)  Last time, I picked a blended wine "2007 Allbobroges" from Gilbert Cellars.  I was greatly surprise by the refined and deep tones the wine brings.  It is really smooth with blackberry taste.

Unfortunately, I didn't paired appropriately.  I cooked a FDGF recipe of curry lamb with yogurt, eggplant, and tomato.  The dish was nice and flavorful but to rich for the wine.  However, the surprise came when Paola try the wine with our 71% Dark Chocolate from Chocolates El Rey.  The wine really explodes in our month and we enjoyed every ounce of the bottle.  I am actually going to buy at least half a case to share it with Paola and friends.

Great wine that should pair great with grilled tenderloin, mushrooms sauces, and rack of lamb.  I look forward to start trying it with other food...
First Post. Definitely a new experience in describing our daily food and wine experiences. Since Paola became an avid reader of "French Woman Don't Get Fat" and I really like Sumito's recipes we try to eat three courses and wine in every meal. Of course that makes dinner time rush time considering that we have a two year old to feed at the same time.

Follow the outcome of the recipes we try and our wine pairings. We hope you enjoy this exploration of cuisine and wine tasting...
